We are excited to debut a new feature series, introducing the people behind the tech here at Think Network Technologies. You have probably worked with us by phone or in remote support sessions, but we’d like to show a bit of our personality.
We have some amazing people powering our business, and today we’re introducing a new addition to the Think staff: Kenneth Horne.
Meet Kenneth Horne
Where did you grow up?
I was born and spent the first several years of my life in the Atlanta suburbs, then moved to Durango as a young teenager.
How did you get started in technology?
All of my experience with computers is self-taught. I started building and repairing computers at a young age and it all progressed from there. I have been working in the IT industry for about 5 years.
What is your role at Think? (In plain English, please.)
In addition to fixing broken computery things, I assist our clients by dispatching their tickets to the appropriate engineer. I also help educate [our clients] on basic and advanced computer procedures.
Outside the Box: Lightning Round
What 80’s movie/song would you say best describes you?
I hate 80’s music, horrible I know …but…. My favorite movie is The Goonies ’cause I’m a goofball!
If granted 3 wishes, what would they be?
World Peace … jk haha. One, I wish I could do magic like in the Harry Potter series (but without all that Voldemort nonsense!). Two, I wish that I had a super awesome spaceship that could travel to other planets & solar systems. Lastly, I would like to have anytime access to any/every book in the whole world.
If you could bring back a popular 80’s fad, what would it be?
One-piece ski suits!
If you could be a Star Wars character, what would your name/angle be?
I would totally be Yoda! He is super Zen and awesome and speaks funny.
If you could be an animal, what would it be and why?
I would like to be a Phoenix (not real, I know), because I love flying and being able to flash around in blazing flames is freakin’ cool!
If money was no object and you could buy anything you wanted, what would it be and why?
Well, since I can’t turn into a phoenix, I would want an airplane with unlimited fuel and my own airstrip so I could fly whenever I wanted.
What is your favorite thing about Durango?
Durango is awesome! I really love the sense of community here and the closeness to nature it provides.
What would you choose as the slogan for your life?
Don’t worry, be happy.
What is your favorite season and why?
This one is hard! I probably like summer a bit more than anything else because there’s so much to do. I love swimming and water sports (rafting, kayaking, bridge jumping, rope swings), rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, and just the general good feeling that comes with being outside and active on a warm, bluebird day!
What is your pet peeve?
My absolute hugest pet peeve is negativity. I am a super positive person that’s always looking at the bright side and hate to be brought down.
What is one of the first things you notice about someone when you first meet them?
The first thing I notice is someone’s smile. Love to see someone happy!
What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Not weird to me, but maybe to some others: I absolutely love alligator. I lived on the Mississippi Gulf coast for a few years and one of my favorite restaurants made the best fried alligator po’boys that I’ve ever had!
If someone made a movie about your life, would it be a comedy, drama, romantic comedy, action film or science fiction?
It would totally be a Sci-Fi / Comedy!
What is your favorite acronym?
WTF – Where’s the Fun! Hahahahaha
